  • Yes — you can bring your current number with you.

Just choose that option when you sign up. To keep things moving smoothly, make sure your number stays active with your current provider until the transfer is complete.

  • Of course.

Gecko Mobile is built for both individuals and businesses. Our plans are simple, month-to-month, and packed with generous data, making them a great fit for businesses that want to keep costs sharp, avoid unnecessary complexity, and stop worrying about restrictive data caps.

  • You can choose either an eSIM or a physical SIM.

If you choose eSIM, we’ll send you a QR code and activation details so you can get connected digitally on a compatible phone. If you choose a physical SIM, we’ll send one out to you. A physical SIM costs $14.95

  • All Gecko services are billed in advance.

Invoices are dated on the last day of the month and due on the 20th of the following month. Each invoice covers the month ahead.

Your invoice will come from Engage Tech Group — the team behind Gecko Mobile, Gecko Internet, Need a Nerd, and Engage Technology.

  • You can pay by credit card, debit card, bank transfer, or direct debit.

For the full list of payment options, including bank details, head to our Ways to Pay page.

  • Yes — Gecko Mobile is 100% New Zealand owned and operated.

We’re based in Hawke’s Bay, and Gecko comes from the same local team behind Gecko Internet, which has provided fibre, ADSL, VDSL, and rural wireless services for years.

So while Gecko Mobile is new, the team behind it has been helping Kiwis stay connected for a long time.

  • Gecko Mobile is delivered through our wholesale partner Devoli and powered by the Spark NZ network.

  • At launch, Australia roaming packs are available, with broader options planned over time.

If you’re travelling, get in touch and we can help you work out the best option, including eSIM-based travel data packs where suitable.

  • All Gecko Internet and Gecko Mobile terms, conditions, and usage policies are available on our terms and conditions page.

  • We work with a New Zealand provider called Devoli to help keep pricing sharp. Because your service runs through their platform, “Devoli” may show on your phone as the provider name.

  • Your plan includes unlimited calls and SMS to New Zealand and Australian mobile and landline numbers.

Charged calls or premium SMS messages — like 0900 numbers, premium services, and donations — are not included and will be added to your next invoice.

  • No — Gecko Mobile plans are month-to-month.

You’ll pay your first month up front when you sign up, and a SIM delivery fee applies if you choose a physical SIM.
